Day 7

Here I am sitting at my desk, drinking my coffee, with my space heater buzzing right beneath my feet. The first few lines of my write-something-every-day challenge are usually just for me to ramble and procrastinate...so I guess I'll wrap up this portion of the blog post now and get to the good stuff. Here we go... what do I want to write about today? What moments in the past couple days have reconnected me to the moment, made me feel more grounded, more connected? 60 min tech break - let's try this one out. It did really help make me feel...

Day 6

Here I am again, showing up a day late, but again I am still here! *pats self on back. Literally I patted myself on the back. Today I want to write about... taking the back roads Sometimes I find myself in a hurry for no particular reason. There's a part of me that wants to make everything run extra efficiently, take every shortcut, do all the things at once. I've set the mood for Day 2 of my writing challenge, so what could go wrong? I'm not really sure what I want to write about today...my hope is to find something special in each day to write about; to take one simple or ordinary moment and turn it into something special.  So here are some options: 1) waiting at a coffee shop for a friend - noticing the...

Day 1

writing challenge

Day 1

I am here, this morning, on my couch, at 7:33 AM to write something. While I sit, I can hear my husband scrolling through Instagram reels from bed and some loud banging happening outside of our house - we have a construction crew working on a retaining wall that we've been told could fall over at any moment - it's slowly been shifting over the last however many years and as first-time homeowners, this is the first big project we've invested in. The banging isn't distracting at all!! ;) I wanted to write a story/poem/comic about my walk yesterday. I...
