As an illustrator, I'm constantly looking for new methods to test out along with fun art supplies to try. I always feel a sense of motivation and inspiration when the seasons change, so now that spring is here I am feeling extra creative.
Here's what's been inspiring me as an illustrator and small business owner lately!
I am new to fountain pens, but this one was suggested as a good starter. I love how clean and fine the lines are, plus there's a cute smily face on the nib - gotta love little details like that.
I tried out Manjit Thapp's pencil drawing + digital color technique after getting a scanner and I can't wait to keep playing with it and practicing my line drawing with traditional media. It's always helpful to learn more about how other illustrators create their art and I've loved her work for many many years.
Hobonichi culture and all the different ways you can use this amazing planner
Wow wow wow I have fallen in love with my Hobonichi planner! This is the third year I've gotten the Hobonichi Techo Weeks and this year I am really amping up the cuteness level after seeing this reel and shopping this site for accessories. Here's a peek into the one drawing a day I've started doing in the monthly calendar view.
My husband and I just took a trip to LA and got to visit several small shops I've been obsessed with via Instagram over the years. This shop was in Chinatown and was so cute and cozy with tons of art supplies and planner accessories. I wish Nashville had more shops like this!
