Mantras offer numerous benefits, including reduced stress and anxiety, enhanced focus, and improved emotional balance.
They can also promote relaxation, improve sleep quality, and deepen meditation practices. If you're looking for a new mantra to help you get through your week, I've put together a list of mantra that have helped me at different times in my life.
Remember how far you've come.
If your past self could see you now, how proud would they be? We are all growing and learning all the time and I hope to show my past selves just how far we’ve made it. This mantra is for you if you need a gentle reminder to be kinder to yourself.
There's no such thing as 'mistakes,' only learning experiences.
Here's one for my fellow perfectionists! Sometimes when I make a mistake I feel like a failure; like everyone else around me has probably never made a mistake as bad…or they are all smarter than me and wouldn’t make the same mistakes. But we all have a laundry list of decisions we would do differently now or mishaps that taught us something that we wouldn’t have learned otherwise. Here’s your reminder that it’s okay to make mistakes! Someday you can look back at them and see what they taught you.
Just because you feel scared doesn't mean you can't do it.
We all have parts of ourselves that are scared to go after what we really want. That scared voice in your head might just be trying to protect you. Do you have a part of yourself that tries to keep you from going after things you really want? What do you think it might be trying to do for you? See how this gentle mantra sounds to those parts of yourself.
You deserve to rest however and whenever you need.
Have you ever been told that rest can be productive? I know I’ve said it before. But I’ve been learning that it’s okay to rest just to rest - it’s okay to slow down just to slow down - it’s okay to listen to your body and be in the moment, not thinking about all the things you have on your to do list. I’ve been listening to Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey of The Nap Ministry and it’s been a great lesson in how capitalism and white supremacy hurt us all; they don’t allow us the freedom to rest, slow down, or take a break. I’m giving you permission to rest if you need it. And I highly recommend reading Rest Is Resistance!

We are all a work in progress.
This mantra is for you if you've been stuck in comparison mode, looking at highlight reels on social media and feeling disconnected. This mantra is also for you if you need a reminder to keep moving forward, even if your path is not as easy as you had hoped. Give yourself and those around you grace, because we are all a work in progress.
